Hello everyone, great to join you all. We’re thinking of retiring in Pattaya or Jomtiem and buying a Condo there. Can we get some advice on reputable Realty companies to work with? Also the avg price for a 2 bdm 2 bath high floor with view of ocean? Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster seeks advice on reputable realty companies for purchasing a condo in Pattaya or Jomtien, along with average prices for a 2-bedroom unit with an ocean view. Responses warn against buying condos due to potential financial loss, suggest considering houses instead, and highlight concerns about the quality and maintenance of certain properties.
They are very low standards of work and over priced
Come to Thailand for a year and then see what is involved with the thai immigration and the people who live here and have a good look around the country before you decide on the place where you are moving to full time
I would really look into where you buy, some Condos are cheap, because owners of others aren't paying the ongoing fees, so no maintenance being done, and the rules stop legal action against them, so the whole building suffers.
Better buying a house with a pool a lot cheaper than a condo you can get a good house 3 bedroom 2 bathroom and a pool for around 5 million baht in huay yai about 10 minutes from jontien
I think the thai authorities are clamping down on that now (i have only heard this anecdotally), but I am no expert, so I was just reminding Vini of the law.
Do not buy condos here in Thailand. They are trash and you will lose money in the long run. The interest on your money will pay for your condo rental here.
If night club open on the ground you will have free music all the night for the rest of your life remenber that and the quality after five year go down down and down..
What you think your value is and what you can sell is 2 different stories. Thais don't want to buy used and the Chinese do not buy used. It is not like America where inventory is low. I hope you can sell it for what it is worth, but it will be a headache to sell. They build a shinny new hip condo every 2 years in Jomtien and I would rather move to a new building every 2 years. Thai buildings get ugly due to this weather. Avoid the headache.
