TLDR : Answer Summary
If you're looking for a fun day trip from Bangkok with teenagers that involves animals, consider visiting Ayutthaya. This historical site allows for bike rentals to explore gardens, temples, and statues. Other options include DreamWorld and Safari World for theme park experiences. If they love animals, animal cafes are available in Bangkok, although some have closed down, so checking current reviews is advisable. Kanchanaburi is also a great trip, with the added charm of the historical Death Railway. For a unique experience, Lopburi is known for its many monkeys, though caution is advised. For indoor options, the aquarium at Siam Paragon, known as Sea Life Ocean World, is the largest in Thailand and offers impressive sights.

There is also the aquarium in the basement of Siam Paragon, the largest aquarium in Thailand, Sea Life Ocean World. It is impressive for Thailand, especially the sharks.

Lopburi is your choice (1hr from Ayutthaya). If they love animals, they won't love them anymore after hundreds aggressive monkeys everywhere on the streets. Lol

Many animal cafes in Bangkok have shut down due to poor business, so check both Facebook and Google maps if you want to go.

it's a cafe like what you usually see but they put pets in the cafe so the customers can play with them. For example, you can play with dog or cat in the cafe. I myself never go there due to the concerns about hygiene. I have cats at home and their hairs are everywhere!

The ancient city is my favorite place in Bangkok area. You rent bikes and ride around the huge area with gardens, temples and incredible statues. The south end of the skytrain is very close now.
