Hey friends, in October i'll be flying from the philippines to Thailand with my wife (filipina) and kids, she wanted to visit bangkok and see the legendary city, any recommendations on hotels near tourist attractions, maybe one with a pool? And would have to accomodate 2 adults and 2 kids (i've found several hotels that say i need 2 rooms for 4 people). Any help would be awesome and feel free to PM. Also any recommendations on must see tourist stuff would be awesome also.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is planning a family trip to Bangkok in October and seeks recommendations for hotels near tourist attractions that can accommodate two adults and two children, preferably with a pool. Commenters suggest various hotel options, including family rooms at The Athenee and a 2-bedroom suite at Royal Rattanakosin Hotel. Anyone familiar with Royal Rattanakosin Hotel? 2 bedroom suite, anyone stay here before, seems good deal advertised price of 55 a night with breakfast?

very familiar with this hotel. It’s the only hotel in Thailand where the front desk staff (all women) hate foreigners and probably hate Asian foreigners even more than white people foreigners. This is of the top 2 worst hotels I have ever stayed at in Thailand. 35 years of visiting Thailand with my Thai wife.

Most Thais hate falàngs unless they can make some cash from them, same thing applies to the government, you have to be blind not to see it! We are not welcome here!!!!!! (Unless we are rich)

I would have thought most Thais were indifferent, too busy with their own lives. Except for the few who are involved in the tourist industry of course and then generally I find them welcoming. Especially if you can speak a word of Thai.

I think mostly they resent us because they all think we are rich and don't understand that most of us aren't.

40 years ago we stayed at Central Guest House for about 40 baht a night. Small rooms separated with plywood. It's still there and looks exactly the same

yes we stayed there in May. It's situated in the old city close to the royal palace, sunamluang and Tamasaad University Ave govt buildings. The breakfast when I was there catered for the Chinese guests. It was ok. There are no shopping malls and street food is hard to find. It's close to the infamous kaosan road which like most things in Thailand comes alive at night.

Get an ideas google attractions and locations, how many days etc. create a plan itinerary the you can select a place to stay. You might need to take the train too!. I've got sister first time visiting from manila for 5 days hectic as they are seniors I did an plan and their previewing. I'm here to suggest. I love here now, my wife is Thai but we're expats.

You dont need two rooms but how old are the kids? Lots of Thai people will get big rooms for whole family. You can also look at serviced apartments.

Really depends your budget lots of choice and October should be heavy rain though.

I was hoping to keep it at 50 USD a night or less, doesn't have to be an exotic room, just close to tourist stuff, pool would be nice but not 100 percent necessary
