TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for engaging events around Christmas and New Year in Thailand for their teenager family members, specifically in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabi. Comments suggest avoiding full moon parties with teenagers and highlight alternative activities such as New Year chanting ceremonies at temples, which are often family-friendly and may offer free food and beverages. Additionally, it is mentioned that Chiang Mai has special lantern events for New Year's.

> full moon parties ... we can experience with our teenagers

Full moon parties are NOT someplace you want your teenagers to attend.

>Any lantern events

I've seen that only for Loy Krathong.

>Or something fun/different

Most temples have new year eve chanting ceremonies that you can attend. The chanting events usually include free freshly made food/ desserts and coffee/ drinks to the attendees, It's free as well (or a small donation is asked but not required).
