Hi all, I am a US National, I arrived in Bangkok on Sep 22nd (from Spain) and they gave me the 30-day visa stamp on my passport upon arrival. I extended my visa at the immigration office in Ko Tao where they gave me another stamp for an extra 30 days, which gives me until Nov 20th. I am now in Koh Phangan and would like to extend my visa and stay longer so I can go up north and stay in Chiang Mai for a bit (ideally until the end of Feb if I can swing it with the visa).
What are my options for extending the visa and what am I looking at cost-wise?
Thank you in advance ๐
TLDR : Answer Summary
A US national currently in Thailand with a 60-day visa (30 days originally + 30-day extension) is seeking options to extend the visa further to stay until the end of February. One suggestion is to perform a border run, which involves leaving and reentering Thailand to obtain a new 45-day stamp and then applying for an additional 30-day extension at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 Thai baht. It's recommended to use a professional service for the border crossing.
