Border runs in Thailand allow tourists to renew their visa exemptions or stay durations by exiting and re-entering the country. Travelers can typically make two entries by land per calendar year but face no limit for entries via air travel. Discussions suggest land crossings require demonstrating possession of 20,000 THB, especially when entering overland. Alternatives like flying to nearby countries, such as Malaysia, are also mentioned to avoid complications. Suggestions for specific border crossing points, like Ban Laem over Aranyaprathet, are offered to make the process smoother.
You certainly could go to one of the borders with Cambodia and get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp. I'd avoid the Aranyaprathet - Poi Pet border and use Ban Laem instead.
I just fly to KL Malaysia no entry visa for there and air Asia have some cheap flights. Book two one way tickets 2 hours apart all over in half a day. Cost me 3000 last time.
From my understanding, you can do 2 entries per year calander year by road and there is no limit for entering by airports. But some more information about what your enquiring about would be useful as different visas could be extended without doing border crosses etc.
