Should I report my 90-day immigration update based on the date given or the actual 90-day mark?

Hi I’m looking for some advice. I just checked and realised that the last time I did my 90-day report at Chonburi immigration, they only gave me 84 days instead of the mandatory 90 days. So, for the next one, should I report based on the 84th day date, or wait until the 90th day date as per normal? Anybody experienced this before and if so, what did you do please? TIA.
Answer summary
The user is seeking advice regarding their upcoming 90-day immigration report at Chonburi, as they received only 84 days on their last report instead of the standard 90. There's confusion over whether to report on the 84-day date or wait until the 90-day period is completed. Community members provide various insights, suggesting that the report should be based on the date given on the immigration slip rather than the expected 90-day mark. However, there's a consensus that it's better to go earlier, up to 15 days before the due date, to avoid any issues with late reporting. The user learns that different immigration offices can have unique interpretations of the rules.

OP
Thanks to everyone who replied. It seems to be different at this immigration that I am at now—Chonburi.

I was always reporting in Bangkok since I first arrived in 1997 and that was always 90 days from the date printed on my last successful 90-day slip, but here it doesn’t seem to be that. It seems to be from the date your last report was done, not from the date on the slip itself.

No worries, now I know and it’s not really that surprising because each immigration office tends to follow the rules in their own uniquely Thai way. 🙂 Thanks again.

You go on the date or upto 15 days before they stamped on form

This is a tricky one.

Because most renewed things count from when the previous one expired, example renew your retirement visa 3 weeks early, but it actually starts the day after your existing one ends.

Now, here's the problem... Do your 90 Day report two weeks early AND that's when your 90 Day report starts, so effectively you have just lost 2 weeks of the next 90 Day Report.

We all know that's not Right, But I'm not going to challenge it, because after all it's FREE. !!!

Always remember that. 😃😃😃

date immi gave you, don't argue and don't tell them they made a mistake. Had a mate that loved to argue, when he was 3 days late with visa renewal (extension) he got deported with a 5 year blacklist.

Doesn’t matter how many days even if it was 10. Whatever it says on that slip you better follow

go before your date - regardless of how many days before 90 - too risky to be officially late

Tevita Tuki it is only a 90 day report. There will not be an overstayed if his Visa is still valid.

Did you report early? The 90 days always runs from the date of your last report not from the date it was due

Does your extension expire at day 84? Some immigration offices don't do the 90-day reports beyond the end of your permission to stay.
