Hi, has anyone with an STV expiring after September 30th been able to get an extension at at any immigration offices in Thailand in the last couple of days? I was denied today with my first STV extension ending Oct 24.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the experiences of individuals attempting to extend their Special Tourist Visa (STV) in Thailand before and after September 30, 2021. Users share mixed results: some report successful extensions, particularly from the Jomtien and Chonburi offices, while others faced denials. Confusion exists around the eligibility for Covid extensions and an ongoing program that's reportedly extended until November 26, 2021, which applies to all visas, adding complexity to the STV situation.

I was given my last extension yesterday in Trat. I wasnt due to renew until November but they called me to say to go in 45 days early and they would stamp me again. They added 90 days as of 10th November taking me until early February.

Thanks for sharing. Would have been nice if Samui had done that.

I was denied in Hua Hin

Told by immigration to get a letter from Australian embassy that I’m unable to get a flight home and I’m stuck with no other options then they would consider it.

Spoke to Aust embassy they provided me with a ticket back to Aust 🤷🏻‍♂️

Leaving next week.

I entered on a STV in January this year.

you are confused. The 60 day COVID extension program was continued until Nov 26th 2021. That has nothing to do with the O/P getting a 90 day Special Tourist Visa extension

's advice. The Jomtien Immigration office is the most lenient office in the country when it comes to interpreting the STV rules.

I'd go try there before I threw in the towel.

I am surprised that the Covid extension didn't work. They are available to all visas. Goes to show the STV was a scam.

technically the STV was never able to be changed to any other visa/extension in country. However seen a few reports recently that people have been getting a Covid extension off the back of them. Not sure every office will do so.

Why were you denied? You can apply for extension up to 30 days before expiry.

Reason was because my first extension ends after the "September 30th" cut off date.

you could try a different office. I think they want all these STVs completely finished with including any extensions by the end of December.

From reports from others I’ve read they are saying that as their STV stamp expires after September 30th then they’re not going to extend it.

Seen a few comments across visa groups of people saying the same thing. I believe it was the Samui office. Also some reports from people who successfully applied for the “Covid” extension off an STV.

friend on Samui was denied extension for STV on Samui yesterday. Not one bit happy either. Coming to end of first 90 days only. So if anyone finds an office that is helping....

rule from the Royal Thai Embassy London ...**STV cannot be extended after 30 September 2021. Please DO NOT apply for STV after 30 June 2021 and applicants must arrive in Thailand before 3 July 2021 if they wish to extend their stay after 90 days. Application to extend their stay in Thailand must be submitted before 30 September 2021.**

That’s great. If ONLY that info had been passed onto applicants BEFORE the rule was altered so dramatically. For those paying attention, Thailand ‘hung their hats’ on this initiative. And then pulled the rug out from under. All bad

I seem to recall that if they entered after July 3rd the STV was not extendable.
