What should I do if my Thai tourist visa expires on December 13th but my travel plans require me to leave on December 14th?

Hello.

My tourist visa (got in on exemption and then got a 30-day exetension at immigration) runs out 13th december (the stamp says 13th dec) and we are planning to go to Singapore next - but they only start opening for vaccinated travellers from Thailand at the 14th.

The last plane from Thailand the 13th will land in Singapore 11.30 pm - so just half an hour early until they open up … If we leave at the 14th I guess that means we will overstay by one day, and I’m afraid of the consequences of this, as we want to come back to Thailand again next year.

Any advise on what to do in this situation?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about overstaying their tourist visa, which expires on December 13th, due to travel plans that require them to leave Thailand on December 14th. They want to know the best course of action to avoid issues when returning to Thailand in the future.

could be, but since we want to leave after one day, we would prefer not to. I am actually not aware if your ‘visa extension history’ is being ‘reset’, when leaving the country and entering again?

What do you mean with ‘reset’? - “if your ‘visa extension history’ is being ‘reset’, when leaving the country and entering again?”

All your entries and extensions are recorded.

If you could have more extensions after leaving the country and come back? I guess I’ll have a new ‘exemption’ when entering again? And then be able to apply for 30 day visa and then extension?

, 30days tourism extension is allowed one time per one entry on visa-exempt or SETV/METV (except a few nationalities).

The number of visa-exempt entries is not limited if entering Thailand by air. Technically unlimited, but actually depends on the decision by the Immigration officer at the airport.

both possible, but both cost 1,900 THB

One-day overstay would cause trouble only when you apply for an Elite or SMART visa in your future (Or the possibility is if you apply for a tourist visa in some neighboring country).
