TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users recommend using Wise for transferring money from Australia to Thailand, citing its simplicity, transparency with fees, and speed. Some have experienced delays with Wise, particularly on weekends, while others mention using their local banks for quicker transfers. ANZ and NAB banks are mentioned positively for timeliness, and for withdrawing cash in Thailand, Deemoney is suggested as a reliable option. Additionally, options like MoneyGram and Remitly are mentioned, showcasing varying experiences and preferences in money transfer methods.

I use MoneyGram. I had issues with wise and western union. But everyone will have an opinion one way or the other 👍

NAB takes a few hours to do international transfer, if I need it faster, I use Wise. Can also use Wise to transfer back to NAB

you cannot use WISE for a money transfer from Thailand to anywhere. For this you would need "DEEMONEY" or let your Thai bank do a foreign transfer

no, you used your Bangkok Bank to do a foreign money transfer to a WISE account outside of Thailand. And from there WISE sent the money to your NAB account. You didn't do a domestic money transfer, didn't you? You could have sent a foreign money transfer from your Bangkok Bank directly to your NAB account, without the need to use WISE, is what I am saying. You could say you used WISE, if you first sent the money to a Thai Account of WISE

Weekends used to be slow, like 4 to 8 hours, but I think they may have fixed that now...

Wise is good. I have been in Thailand, transferred money from Westpac to my wise, then send it to my lady Kasikorn bank account. She then gets cash from ATM.

On many occasions only a few minutes or less.

Once money in Wise about ten seconds and fees are reasonable.

Wise, I send money all the time into my Bangkok bank but it doesn't work getting money out of thailand. You have to use Deemoney for that.

Yup. Bangkok Bank won't let Wise into Thailand to compete with their Deemoney

If Wise works in Australia, it's likely that's what most people use. It's the simplest and fastest way to transfer money to Thailand and it shows all of the fees before you make the transfer.
