Hello All❣️

Is there such thing as a Mae Hong Son border run in order to obtain a tourist visa (US Passport)? I am aware that the most common location for border crossing is Mae Sai but I have the opportunity to be in that area at the time I need to leave the country and I would like to plan accordingly.

Thank you in advance ❣️

And do NOT forget the cancel your Extension of Stay based on study in Thailand at your local Immigration Office before you make your way abroad.

thank you so much ❣️

Correct, there is no fee at Immigration. After you cancel this you can make the border run, get 30 days and yes, you can then apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay.

will do. Just to confirm I need to get a letter from my school then report to immigration for the cancellation correct? Is there a fee for this?
Robert *******
no, you need to visit a Thai Consulate to get a Tourist visa. If you did not make twice a border crossing into Thailand this year without a visa you may get the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry at Mae Sai border

thank you so much. This will be my first time doing a land crossing. Just to confirm I will be able to extend the visa exempt entry in Chiang Mai for an additional 30 days correct?
