Can I still do border crossings on a multiple entry visa after using my two visa-exempt entries?

Hey everyone! I would love some advice..

I have done two land border crossings this year while on my "multiple entry visa"... Now my multiple entry visa ended, I need to do a visa run.. Do I have to come in by flight? I thought I did since I did my two border crossings already, but a friend said since I did those border crossings on Multiple Entry visa, it doesn't count as my two a year limit for border crossings- that limit is only for "visa exempt entrance" - and I can still do two crossings... Is this true? Does anyone have experience with this? I would be doing the Mae Sai border..

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether their previous land border crossings count towards the annual limit after using a multiple entry visa. A comment confirms that the limit applies only to visa exempt entries, indicating that the user can still make additional crossings.

Yes, it is true. The limit of 2 border crossings a year is only if you enter without any kind of visa, using the Visa Exempt Entry.

If an immigration officer is having a bad day s/he'll ask to see proof of lodging, 20k baht in cash, and proof of onward travel.

I don't think any "official" info would make a difference.

Oh, what a relief! Would you happen to know if I can find this information on anything official? In case Mae Sai people are having a bad day? :)
