How many land crossings can Australians make into Thailand within a calendar year on a visa exemption?

Hello :) Australian here. I just wanted to ask for some information about the land crossings per calendar year. I apologise if I'm not using the correct terms! This year I have entered once by land via Myawaddy/Mae Sot for a visa exempt 30 days (after being on the first visa exempt 30 days via the airport), and once via Savannakhet/Mukdahan by land with an approved 3 month non-B visa. Is it possible to exit and enter via land this year for a 2nd land crossing visa exemption? Or does the Savannakhet crossing with a non-B visa also count? I hope I've explained clearly, and I hope someone can provide advice! Thank you so much :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian citizen can enter Thailand by land twice a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31) under the visa exemption rule, as long as the entry is on a 30-day visa exempt entry. The Savannakhet crossing is not counted against this limit since it was done with a non-B visa.

With an Australian passport your are allowed to enter Thailand twice a calendar year (1 Jan - 31 Dec) by land borders without a visa, using the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry

Thanks for the great information!

the limit on land crossings is counted ONLY when entering on a 30 day visa exempt entry.

So you have ONE, so far,

Entries into the country by land WITH a valid visa do not count against the two 30 day visa exempt entries you can have in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
