I am planning on retiring in Thailand very soon. I already have a property with my terak.
I only want stay in Thailand for about 6 months at a time.
I was going to apply for a Non O retirement visa, but there seems to be a new DVT visa which allows a stay of up to 6 months.
Would this be a better option than a retirement visa?
Thank you in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is contemplating whether to apply for a Non O retirement visa or a new DVT visa, which permits a 6-month stay in Thailand. Comments suggest that while the DVT visa's requirements are unclear, the Non O visa allows for a 6-month stay with a re-entry permit. It seems that the DVT visa may not be specifically tailored for retirees.

You can stay in Thailand 6 months a year on an initial O visa based on retirement. Just leave using a re-entry permit and return before the 1 year permission to stay expires. Cost: ฿1.900/year at immigration plus ฿1.000 for the re-entry permit. The DTV isn't actually designed for retirees.
Processing of DVT isn't yet very clear yet. You have to get it done from your native country. If it's about Retirement Visa, we can assist you to get it with or without showing money
