I am a german passport holder. Is the METV still available ?

They ask for a reason why I want to come to Thailand - what would be an acceptable reason?

Answer summary

The Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for German passport holders is still a pertinent topic, and inquiries about its availability should be directed to the Thai consulate in Germany. As for providing reasons for visiting Thailand, acceptable responses generally include 'travel and tourism.' However, some humorously suggested alternatives like 'sex tourism' or phrases about supporting the economy also emerged in the conversation.

You need to contact the Thai consulate in Germany to ask them. You can ONLY get a multiple entry tourist visa from your home country.
