Is the Chong Chom border crossing from Cambodia to Thailand still open for entry into Chiang Mai?

Does anyone have experience at the Chong Chom border crossing from Cambodia to Thailand? I want to make my way to Chiang Mai from Siem Reap, and am reading that this border may be closer and easier to cross but this information is a few years old. Is it still open? Thanks
