Hi everyone. Has anyone recently done a visa run to Mae Si from Chiang Mai? Is it possible to go there and cross border and come back to Thailand same day and get a stamp for 30 days? Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to do a same-day visa run to Mae Sai from Chiang Mai to obtain a 30-day stamp, provided you haven't already used two 30-day visa exempt entries by land this year. Many travelers in Chiang Mai take a green bus to the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border for about 500 baht (or a $10 note) to complete this process.

Most people up in Chiang Mai use the green bus to get to the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border. It takes 500baht (or a pristine 10 USD note) to get stamped in and out of burma.

as long as you don't have TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land so far this year you should be okay.
