I am at Koh Kong in Cambodia and I'm about to cross by Cham Yeam/ Hat Lek. I am planning to get a visa on arrival as I got 60 days ago(30+extension) at the airport, arriving from Canada.

I stay here in Cambodia for some days.

Is the the Thai visa free? I think I saw that it is 2000bht? What are the stories from this border? Do they ask for bank statement or return flight? I did it in 2017 everything was okay but now I don't know, thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When crossing from Koh Kong, Cambodia to Thailand at the Cham Yeam/Hat Lek border, travelers will not receive a visa on arrival but rather a 30-day visa exempt entry stamp. It is advisable to carry proof of funds (20,000 baht), proof of onward travel, and proof of accommodation, although it is uncertain if these will be requested. The border may charge fees for certain services, and experiences at this border suggest Thai immigration tends to be friendly.

Not the best border to enter Cambodia as they will ask for 1500 bht or $40 for the $30 visa + the 20bht health check scam, good job you intend to stay a few days there as you would also be asked by the Cambodian immigration for another 300+bht for a in- out turn around. Don't worry about being asked if you have 20,000 bht on you when you return as they never ask , Thai immigration are friendly at this border, speaking from 12 years of experience there.

good luck, I would at least have the 20K baht in cash just in case you're asked. :)

you are NOT going to get a visa on arrival when you stamp into thailand. :O

You're going to get stamped in on what's called a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

ANY border crossing can ask you for proof of funds (20K baht or the equivalent in CASH), proof of onward travel (within the amount of time you're stamped in for) and proof of a hotel reservation or lodging.

Now whether you'll get asked or not is anyone's guess.
