I just learned Thailand has a six month visa for $200 that you have to apply for in your is this true?
Answer summary
The discussion centers around the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for Thailand, which is indeed valid for six months and costs approximately $200. Users clarify that with this visa, each entry allows a stay of 60 days, which can often be extended by 30 days, making it possible to stay in Thailand for nearly nine months if timed correctly. There are also references to the visa exemption for up to 60 days without a visa and potential complexities in the application process.

Im thinking of going to Thailand. What do i do fir a Adress in uk ? If iv sold up
Too late to go Thailand, the visa are so expensive. Just go viet, they are on the stage of 2000s Thailand. In and out so easy and got multi visa 3months each for 50$ for a years
David Maddocks you still only get stamped in for 60 days. Which is extendable for an additional 30 days, afterwhich you need to leave. But because it is a multiple entry visa valid for 6 months, you simply re enter, get stamped in for another 60 days, which again is extendable for an additional 30 days before having to leave the country again. If you time it correctly, on the last day of the visa validity, you can re enter Thailand and get stamped in for a further 60 days and extend for an additional 30. Getting a possible near 9 months from it
My name is Tendai I'm from Zimbabwe working in Maldives. After I joined this group because of so much stress about thai evisa application. I get relieved when I saw that it's not only me having evisa problem so my point is who ever form this group i have to say thank you so much it is really helpful in many ways. I was someone who applied for thai evisa just for few days to visit Thailand it takes 3 days every day asking to upload documents but because it is my first time to do it i was stressing because my departing day arrives with no visa and Air Asia can not check you in. But when I see this group after a lot of Google searching way forward it's directed me to Facebook on this platform that's makes me feel better so I forget about missing flight and be patient this morning I recieved my tourist evisa I'm so excited even i loose money for buying new tickets. I thought I should share my experience and how important of everyone taking time to answer and share everything related to traveling to thailand. God bless you all. 🙏
What about this ? Can you still enter for 60 days without a Visa under the visa exemption. If so do you have to fill anything out online or do you just show immigration at the airport your hotel, departure ticket and then they stamp you in ? I ask because they constantly change everything.
Manoah Zorn it wasnt effective until January 2025.
July 2024 was the month it got officially approved by Royal Gazette, but somehow it took 6 months before someone had actually got stamped 60-day on his/her passport
for any Thai METV E–Visa Application, include a travel itinerary that includes multiple entries into Thailand, otherwise a Single Entry Tourist E–Visa (SETV) could possibly be issued instead and the difference in Thai E–Visa Fees between the USD $200 Dollars vs. $40 Dollars will not be refunded
Thai Multiple Entry Tourist E–Visa (METV) has been around for over a decade and the Thai METV E–Visa Fee is still USD $200 Dollars from Thai Embassies/Thai Consulates that use the US Dollar (USD) as their foreign currency
When I entertained that Multi Entry Tourist Visa, it was said , Thai official site, the visa holder has to exit (and allowed to re enter Thai) every 60 days.
It's called a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV). It's valid for 6 months and every time you enter Thailand on it during that 6 months you get stamped in for 60 days
That is what I said. 6 months MTV valid but every entry is stamped with 60 days. A holder of the MTV has to leave Thailand every 60 days, on return, no other visa appilcation, just goes as the MTV already issued allows.
Luc De Clerck lucky you, Germans pay 35 Euro for the single entry (Brussels asks for 40.- Euro!) but we need to pay 175 Euro for the multiple entry tourist visa. Thailand's famous random pricing schemes 😄
Philip Jones it depends from which country you apply. Check with the Thai embassy website in your own country. Each has the discretion to adjust pricing.
HandsomeRaccoon5162 the METV can only be applied from your home country of residence, so it makes absolutely NO sense to check other embassies websites
Jeremy Ell the 30 days change, if it happens, won't affect regular tourist visas including the single entry and multi entry visas. It only affects visa exempt entries.
