I was reading tourist visa conditions on the official website.
Im intending to visit Japan, S Korea and Vietnam before arriving in Thailand.
The Web says you must be in your home country ( UK) when you make application.
Has anyone made application for a 60 tourist visa from a country other than home country. I was hoping to stay in Thailand for approximately 55 days.
Answer summary
The user is inquiring whether it is possible to apply for a Thai tourist visa from a country other than their home country (the UK), as they plan to visit Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam before arriving in Thailand. Comments from the community indicate that it is feasible to apply for a tourist visa from other countries where Thai embassies accept non-resident applications, especially noting that Vietnam is a viable option. It is clarified that while certain visas, like the 6-month multiple-entry tourist visa, may require the applicant to be in their home country, single-entry tourist visas can be applied from anywhere with a Thai consulate, as long as the applicant can provide proof of residence in that country.

Alan Boardman . . . only for the application to the 6-months multi entry tourist visa, you need to be in your home country. A few recent reports suggested that you can get the METV in Vietnam and Laos . . you can apply for a single entry Tourist Visa anywhere in the World where there is a Thai embassy or consulate, you would need proof for the e-visa system that you are actually staying in that country
You do not need to be in your home country. You can apply for a tourist visa from any country where the Thai embassy accepts non-resident applications. Vietnam will accept it for sure. Not completely sure about Japan or S Korea though.
