The discussion revolves around whether Nomad and Safety Wing travel insurance are accepted by Thai authorities. While some users indicate that Safety Wing is accepted, there are concerns about coverage, particularly related to quarantine costs if one tests positive for COVID-19, even without symptoms. Users emphasize the importance of ensuring that the insurance policy includes coverage for asymptomatic hospitalization, as Thai requirements mandate hospitalization in such cases. One participant mentions opting for Luma Thai insurance for adequate coverage.
Just make sure it covers asymptomatic hospitalization, in case you test positive when you arrive. It's mandatory hospitalization (or in a hospitel), even without symptoms, and most international insurance doesn't pay for it. Thai policies do cover it. It doesn't happen to people often, but it does happen and people have had to pay huge bills out of pocket :-(
Search group for safety wing, seen few posts it was accepted.
But dont think it covers costs if you have to quarantine because you have sat next to someone who becomes positive even though you have negative test results
