A friend has a B visa and work permit and is due to leave on the 4th of March and apply for a new 90 B visa. unfortunately he miscalculated due to February having 29 days this year and he will overstay by one day. Does anyone have any experience in getting a new B visa when having an overstay stamp in his passport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice about their friend's situation where they have a B visa and work permit and will inadvertently overstay by one day due to a miscalculation involving February's leap year. Responses from the community reflect concerns about the consequences of overstaying, suggesting that it could complicate his application for a new B visa. Some participants emphasize the importance of avoiding overstays, while others mention that overstays can be checked at the Thai consulate and could affect future visa options like the Thai Elite Visa.
Strongly advise not to get any overstays, even if it means rebooking a flight. The rules can change. I had a 1 day overstay and had a v. hard time getting thru immigration about a year ago, and the overstay was a factor. Also, 2 overstays makes someone ineligible (as of a year ago) for the Elite Visa which is a great option if you have some money and want to live for an extended period in Thailand without constant visa and immigration worries.
To my understanding, there's no relationship between overstays and getting through immigration (assuming, of course, you're not blacklisted). For the elite visa, I believe you're allowed a one day overstay only; do you have a source for that?
