Is it worth doing a border run to Myanmar for a visa extension or should I apply for an extension in Bangkok?

I have a 60 day visa exemption stamp, I have to go to the Myanmar border anyway to change Myanmar currency into baht. Would it be worth doing a border run once my 60 days have expired into Myanmar to get 30 days when I come back in or simply going to immigration in BKK to get the 30 extension? Also I cannot find any visa run agencies that go into Myanmar, only Laos and Cambodia. Does anyone know a visa run agency that goes into Myanmar?

Do you need to go to the border to change Kyat to Baht ? I'm sure in the Myanmar communities in or around  Bangkok there should be enough  Kyat <--> Baht exchangers. Don't know if the difference in rate is worth it to travel.

You cannot enter Myanmar without applying for a visa first. If you're willing to pay and apply, go for it. Border runs are always a toss up. My advice: go to immigration for the 30 day extension and apply for a new visa after that.

As for the border run out of Ranong mentioned above, I've never heard of it but it could be interesting!

google for "Pon's Place" Visarun Agent in Ranong. There and only there, Farang can do a same border run to Myanmar via Ranong/Kawthoung by boat. This is the ONLY border point to Myanmar where you still can do a border run. . . . WARNING: Do NOT attempt to do this border bounce by yourself

You can't find any agencies because there are none.  The Myanmar border has been closed to foreigners since Covid.  You cannot do a border bounce at the Myanmar border.

You're also not going to find any that go to Cambodia, as that border has been closed for months.
