I'm planning to leave in mid-May but on the DTV visa website I'm told ‘Applicant should not apply for visa more than 3 months before the date of intended arrival’.
Considering that I'm leaving in 110 days, am I better off waiting 21 days to be under the 90 days as it mentions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa application guidelines state that you should apply no more than 3 months before your intended arrival date. Since you plan to leave in mid-May and it's currently early February, you are advised to wait 21 days until March. This will ensure that your application is within the recommended 90-day window prior to your intended entry date.
