Is age a factor when applying for a DTV visa in Thailand?

Is age an issue in applying DTV Visa?

I’m 19 and I believe I qualify for a DTV visa since I’m a freelancer earning $10K a month where I can showcase my portfolio.

Each embassy operates differently, and age is not a listed factor on my country’s consulate website. But I do see some embassy listing the minimum age where it’s 20.

Does anybody here think my visa might be rejected based on my age factor even tho I can provide all the necessary documents.

Edit - I do have 500,000+ bhat in my bank, the embassy I’m applying thru only allow walkthrough and there’s no evisa service available.

Please help, thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The age requirement for applying for a DTV visa in Thailand varies by embassy, with some setting a minimum age of 20. Although the original poster is 19 and has sufficient income and funds, concerns about potential rejection based on age have been raised. It is advised to directly consult the embassy regarding specific age restrictions and potential alternatives, such as temporary visas until they turn 20.

Call the embassy you're planning to apply at and see what they say about age restrictions.

You can just come on a waiver until you turn 20, then go apply in Laos or Cambodia once you turn 20.

in Thailand, the minimum age for Thai citizens to vote is 18 years old, but, for many things, such as the minimum age for Thai citizens to apply for a Thai passport on their own without any signed parental consent is 20 years old.

Before applying for any Thai Visa, specifically ask the Thai Embassy/Thai Consulate if you can apply for a DTV Visa at age 19 years old for yourself before submitting a Thai Visa application to the Thai Embassy/Consulate.

Personally, I think you can apply for any Thai Visa on your own at age 18 years old....

Just get a multi entry and stretch that out to the max in the meantime. Probably be 20 by then👊🏼

If you're making $10K/month (I assumed USD), travel the world, staying at least a month in a country. There is no hurry. Thailand is not going away.

I would probably get the ed visa first. Cancel it when I turn 20 and apply for the dtv visa then

ED is a difficult visa to get, and you have to attend classes

@Henrik ****
not difficult just find good school ,and they will do all documentation for you ,just pay money and bring to them some simple evidence and paperwork foto , copy of all stamps if you got that already

Perhaps they'll conveniently ignore your age if you earn 10k a month...

- it is probably not possible via the e-visa process, as there is a clear trail. Maybe with a “walk-in” embassy

Minimum age is 20. Period.

Min age for primary visa holder is 20. Not long to wait!

If you're making 10k a month, I'm sure you're welcome either way.

could get LTR but that's a pain to get.

and would need 500k usd invested into Thailand with a net worth over a million for under 50 category. No others would work for them.

Not really. Age is criteria. Actual income doesn't matter for DTV, they just want to see the 500k in the bank.
