hello guys can anyone guide me whats the best easilest way to get dtv visa if im kinda retired i mean im not a freelancer or remote worker but i heard if i sign up for a thai cooking school or muay thai classes or thai language school i will be able to apply is that true ? and for how long we must pay upfront to these schools in this case ? and if technically let say as some said we dont need to pay or give more than a month upfront just in case we were rejected then how come we will have right to stay 5 years and will it be possible to do border run every 6 month or we must fly out of thailand every 180 days ? thnx alot .cheers
Answer summary
The easiest way to obtain a DTV visa in Thailand for someone who is retired is to enroll in a qualifying program such as Muay Thai or Thai cooking classes, rather than a Thai language school. Typically, one needs to sign up for and pay for a course that lasts a minimum of 6 months to demonstrate commitment to ongoing education. This generally costs between 20,000 and 40,000 baht. Upon enrolling, one can extend their stay by performing a border run every 180 days, as long as they can show proof of continued enrollment when applying at immigration.

SOFT POWER Thai Cooking because, if the Thai embassy uses logic the retired fight Muya Thai cannot believe less of the chance to be approved;)

Anyways, it seems to feel less trustworthy because Thai people often think in stereotypes.

You pay a minimum 6-9 month course between 20.000-40.000 baht

You can get a DTV via Muay Thai or cooking. You should book a 6mths plus course and show intention to continue your course when it ends. You can do a border bounce around every 180 days to extend your stay. Applying at immigration requires showing continued enrolment in a course.

Cooking or Muay Thai qualify but not language. Currently it is looking like you need a 6 month course booked and paid for.
