Is the 72-hour RT-PCR test rule for Thailand based on the test result issuance time or the time the test was taken?

72 Hour RT-PCR Test Rule for Thailand.... Is it from when the results are issued or when you take the test? Saw mostly online it's from when it's officially 'issued' as some places take longer than others but saw some conflicting answers saying the test within 72 hours.

Any experiences!? Flying on a Monday night from a place where PCR-RT tests aren't available after Friday afternoon. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 72-hour RT-PCR test rule for traveling to Thailand stipulates that the time is counted from when the test results are officially issued, not when the test is taken. Confusion around this rule has been noted among travelers, as some airlines have interpreted the regulation differently, requiring proof of result issuance. It is advisable to verify the specific airline's requirements and to obtain supporting documentation from relevant consulates to avoid travel issues.

WHILE I WAS PROVIDED THE CoE, THE EMAIL INSTTUCTION READS "Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected, using RT-PCR test, issued within 72 hours before departure (in case of connecting flights, before embarkation from initial port)." SO I GUESS it COUNTS WHEN THE RESULT IS ISSUED????

it's when they are issued but be careful, Japan Airlines wouldn't let me fly until I showed them an email proof from my consulate that that's what it is. They were under the impression that it's 72hrs from the time test was taken. So, have proof of that - email your consulate and print that email.

Lovely stuff this Mark and we'll bear it in mind for leaving Thailand. But I meant on entering Thailand the 72 hour rule on Covid-19 tests, 72 hours of issuing or 72 hours since the covid-19 test.
