Got my Non Imm O transferred to my new passport yesterday (Cost: 500Baht) I also asked to transfer my Multi Rentry Permit. But that was not done. The IO said I could continue to use my Rentry Permit in the old passport. Is that normal?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user successfully transferred their Non Immigrant O visa to a new passport but was unable to transfer their Multi Re-entry Permit. The immigration officer advised that the user could continue to use the re-entry permit in the old passport. Community comments suggest that using both passports while traveling is acceptable, but there shouldn't be a charge for transferring stamps.

Didn't you get a re-entry permit at a different office or airport?

Yes, I got it for free in Chaeng Wattana. In regards to re-entry permit, they told me to ask the officers at the airport. I didn't, because Covid lockdowns came and my re-entry permit expired.

I guess Immigration transferred the stamp Extension of Stay into your new passport. As the IO mentioned you can use both passport when you are going to travel.

no because in the movement the new passport is registered the old one is not valid any more…the computers system / visa etc is then on the new passport numbers… in my case they gave me a new re entry stamp in my new passport and told me this

Did they give you new re-entry permit stamp in the IO or at the airport? They told me that I should ask for one at the airport, at re-entry permit counter.

yep, for some strange reason the immigration offices will NOT transfer a re-entry permit that you bought at the airport 🙁 I have no idea why but they will send you there to get it done.
