yep, do not report that you already stayed at your own house for a week unless you like to pay the fine, report within 24 hours after arriving in your own house/condo in Bangkok.

Bill Flesher This page is for Thai visa advice, but i understand that staying in a hotel in Thailand could not be done without a visa so the question is absolute not related to any visa. On the nice part, if you stay at a shared bed in an hostel for 150 Thb a night it is cheaper, if you stay at the 5 * luxury resort like Mandarin Oriental Bangkok for 31.000 Thb a night it is just a little more expensive to stay than to paying the fine.

Is the price of staying in the hotel the night before you go home similar to the price of the fine for neglecting to report in the first place?
