Hi, thanks to your advice, my application for Non-O visa was accepted. I noticed that the immigration officer in charge of my case did not take the police certificate and the medical certificate, although they are part of the required documents. It this a common practice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The immigration officer's decision to not request a police certificate and a medical certificate for a Non-O visa is common practice, as these documents are not required for this type of visa. According to community insights, only the Non-OA visa requires such certificates, which are needed for applications from outside Thailand.

A police certificate and medical certificate are not required for the Non-O visa. What research did you do?

I feel like in the process of his research he got his wires crossed. Easy to do when he doesn't want to make a mistake on his future. Bright side is he got it sorted, granted with some unnecessary costs, but still accomplished what he wanted too.

You are right - the officer was very particular about both. I had to call my landlord during the interview to update TM30 and provide rental receipts from the previous 3 months.

Neither of these is required for a non-O visa. Only a non-OA visa requires these, which can only be obtained from the Thai embassy in your home country.

Thanks Brandon for your quick reply. I think I got confused and spent needless time, money and effort in getting those documents, including notarisations by my embassy and the Thai MOFA! But good lessons about how these bureaucratic processes work.
