Iโ€™m in Cambodia near the Thai embassy and flying into Thailand in a few days. Is there any advantage to going to the Embassy for avisa or should I just come visa exempt?

TLDR : Answer Summary
With the recent shift to an online eVisa system from the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh as of October 8th, visitors from over 90 countries can enter Thailand visa-exempt for 60 days. Given this, if you qualify for the visa exemption, it is more advantageous to enter Thailand without applying for a tourist visa at the embassy.

Visa processing time at Phnom Penh now seems to be 10 days

Effective Oct 8th that consulate went to eVisa online system <- meaning you can't go to the embassy to get a visa

AND

if you're from one of the 90 + countries that can show up here and get stamped in 60 days free stamp (visa exempt) there's not much sense in applying for a tourist visa from the embassy there seeing as that's 60 days entry too

just come in free stamp entry (visa exempt) for 60 days
