Hello….🙏

I’ve been to Thailand many many times, been with “O” (retirement visa). However it’s expired as had to return to UK for Covid.

I hope to return this year for the first time since my ‘O’ visa expired and I’m just asking how I can get the following:

A 60 day Visa, which I usually got from Hull Thai Consul in UK but it’s now closed permanently. The only alternative is to get a visa exempt visit but it’ll mean only 30 days and I hoped to stay for 60 days if I could.

Thank you🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, who previously held an expired 'O' retirement visa, is seeking guidance on obtaining a 60-day visa to Thailand following their return to the UK due to COVID-19. They noted the closure of their usual visa application consulate in Hull and requested alternatives. Comments detailed online application options through the Thai consulate in London using the eVisa system, which generally processes applications within three working days. Additionally, advice was given on extending a visa-exempt entry for an additional 30 days at local immigration.

If applying for the 60 TV online then there will be fields in the application such as "Confirmation of lodgings", "Flight Number", "dates", "Proof of UK residency", "proof of finances", "ID card of invitee to Thailand" (where applicable). etc etc. I make an A4 sheet with the words "not applicable + my name and DOB/Passport number" in bold marker pen/or printer, prior to completing the application online, and where they ask for information or proof I just upload the sheet I mention above. Good Luck, the process is quite straight forward for most.

I obtained my initial T/R visa in 5 working days from London Embassy online.

Any additional docs they require they email you and are pretty quick also you can always contact them via the messenger on their facebook page and the get back to you same day, a lot better than trying to call them by phone

eVisa TR60 applications in the UK are usually approved in 3 working days and you don't send your passport. Any missing documents they will email you with a request.

Do this include double entries too ?

@Barry ******
there is no double entry anymore, those stopped back on Nov 15, 2015 when they went to either a single entry tourist visa or a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa

Those are the only two offered now

OK thanks. Its a for a UK friend that wants to spend 4 to 6 months of the UK winters here. I lost track of the tourist ones after I started the O retirement way

Yes, the multiple entry version is just as fast as far as I'm aware but the documentation requirements (e.g. flight details, finances) may require updates prior to issue

There is no walk up get a visa at the thai consulates in the west anymore (at least not at the ones that use the eVisa online system)

You can apply for a 60 day tourist visa on line thru the thai consulate in London using the eVisa system at this link;

OR

you can come in visa exempt (the 30 day free entry stamp) and then take the one 30 day extension you're allowed on that at the immigration office where you stay for 1900baht
