How do I apply for an ED visa in Thailand after arriving on a tourist visa?
So we have decided we will get ED visa’s, do we have to come in with a tourist visa and find the school we like and apply? How’s it work?
Answer summary
To obtain an ED (Education) visa in Thailand, you can initially enter the country on a tourist visa. It is advisable to apply for a 6-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa before arrival for a longer stay. Once in Thailand, you need to visit and enroll in a school that offers the course you wish to study. The school will provide you with the necessary paperwork to apply for the ED visa at a Thai consulate or embassy. If you enroll in a university course, you might also have the option to change your visa status at a local immigration office.

ED visas? What have you decided to study?

If you still at home, why not apply for the 6 months valid Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, than you can get almost 270 days of stay inside Thailand out of this visa with periods of 60 days of stay.

You visit a school, enroll in one of their course programs and they will give you the paper work to apply for an ED Visa at Thai Consulate of Embassy. If you start a course at an University it is possible you can change your reason of stay at local Immigration office.
