Is it acceptable to show only a two-week hotel booking to Thai immigration for a 60-day stay?

Has anyone had experience with this?

Is it okay with the immigration officer if I show only a two-week hotel booking, even though I plan to stay in Thailand for 60 days starting this April 1? I want to find a better place in Phuket by walking in rather than booking online, and I will book the rest of my stay later when I arrive there.

I hope someone can give me a good idea.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question raised concerns about showing a two-week hotel booking to immigration for a 60-day stay in Thailand. Based on community responses, it is suggested that having a short-term hotel booking might not pose an issue as immigration officers typically do not require proof of accommodation unless asked. It's noted that travelers often inform officials of their plans to move around. Additionally, key points about entry requirements include the necessity of proof of accommodation for the initial stay, proof of onward travel, and proof of funds.

I was asked where I was staying. Only had a room for the 1st night. Wasn't an issue. I got the impression this is usual

No problem.

You will only need to show accommodation if asked and then you can tell them your plans. Chances are they won’t even ask

The Three Tourism Entry Proofs

- proof of accommodation for at least your first few nights (hotel booking or a letter of invite from a Thai)

- proof of onward travel (international travel ticket leaving Thailand within your initial entry stamp exit by date)

- proof of funds (20,000 Baht or equivalent in any major currency in CASH per individual, or 40,000 for a family)

do you need to show your booking? If asked yes and advise you will be travelling around.

I already have a return ticket, but my pre-booking is not complete because I want to travel around, not only in one place.

that's fine as long as the onward travel is within 60-days its fine. If not your airline might not let you board.

They understand you’ll be moving around. You hotels do not have to be pre booked

. It's the airline taking you to Thailand that may ask for it. Not Thai immigration.

Just show immigration your passport and boarding pass, Visa if you have one. dont offer anything unless they ask

Who are you showing this to? The only time immigration will ask to see where you're staying is if they want to deny entry to you.
