Hi. Being italian, I decided to stay longer in Thailand, but need a border run for 30 days. I d like to go to Ranong (Myanmar). Is it a safe solution? Having an italian passport will make me in a position of risking quarantene? Do I need to pay Myanmar visa (10$ or 50$)? Is it easy to go by bus from Surat Thani back and forth? Thanks all for the big help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the intention of an Italian citizen to perform a border run to Ranong, Myanmar, in order to extend their stay in Thailand. Community responses suggest that the crossing is easy and quick, with no quarantine required. Instead of a traditional visa, a day pass that allows for a stamp in and out of Myanmar is sufficient, costing around 10$. Additionally, the travel route from Surat Thani to Ranong is implied to be manageable.

, did you already extend your 30 day entry stamp by 30 days at the immgiration office for 1900baht?

IF you didn't, that's a good way to get 30 more days. IF you did you would need to bounce out and back.

You're gonna hafta figure out how to get to Ranong on your own, this isn't a group that tells you how to get from point a to point b sorry

You do NOT buy a visa for burma to bounce there, instead you pay for a day pass to get stamped in and out of burma. There is NO quarantine or anything like that. Just go, stamp out of thailand, take a boat across to burma, stamp in and out, take the boat back to thailand and stamp back in.

Good Luck

I just did that crossing. It was super easy. Ranong was a surprise - nice place to spend a couple of days. The actual visa run was slick and fast. 2-3 hrs tops. Feel free to PM me and I can share my info
