Hi lovely community - need to do a border bounce next week from Koh Phangan to a non-muslim country (Israeli passport), so can't do Malaysia. Which is best and/or cheapest or easiest border run without hassle of potentially being denied entry back into Thailand? Currently here on visa exemption, planning on doing the same when I get back.

Thanks!!๐Ÿ™

The user seeks advice on the best options for a border run from Koh Phangan, noting their Israeli passport and the inability to enter Malaysia. Suggestions include doing a border bounce to Myanmar at Ranong, traveling to Laos, or possibly extending their visa at Samui Immigration for 1,900 baht. Well spotted (y) :) , they don't mention if they have already gotten a 30 day extension on their 30 day visa exempt entry.

That could be a viable way to get more time without border bouncing.

. There are plenty of daily flights from bangkok to Ubon and transfers from the airport to Mukdahan too for a visa run to Savanakhet.

you do bring up a good way to get to Mukdahan/Savannakhet from down there though IF someone was going to do a visa run for a tourist visa (y)

just for a border bounce out and back in? I can understand going to Lao IF you wanted to buy a tourist visa from one of the consulates there BUT I can't understand slogging all the way there just to border bounce for a 30 day visa exempt entry.

Yes I read it, but then again ADD wont stop bothering me so got caught to the non-muslim country. Anyway was very easy and cheap option taking raja ferry from Phangan to Donsak, flying Surat - Bangkok - Ubon and from there to Mukdahan - Savannakhet with a bus.

you did read they are on Koh Phangan right? They are only wanting to go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country and stamp right back into thailand to get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp.

They are not wanting to do a visa run to a thai consulate to get a visa for thailand.

Google "visa run Koh Phangan to Ranong" you'll find people who you can use or enough info to wing it yourself.

BUT that article is WAY WAY out of date.. You're totally wrong and you CAN indeed bounce out and back in at Ranong..

i did it in the end. Very easy. Take boat from ranong pier, half hour ride, get off. Immigration office right at the pier in burma. Stamp in and out. Pay 10 USD (need a crisp new bill). Get right back on the boat back to Thailand. Stamp in 30 day visa exemption.
