Dear Community!

Is it possible to apply for a DTV in Cambodia online or do you have to go to the embassy?

And is the online payment process safe? Do you get a receipt for it?

TLDR : Answer Summary
It is possible to apply for a Thai DTV (Digital Tourism Visa) online through the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The embassy has transitioned to an e-visa process for all applications. Applicants are required to submit a scanned copy of their entry stamp from Cambodia when applying. The online payment system is in place, and it is recommended to check the embassy's official website for detailed information on payment security and receipt issuance.

They switched to an online application for everyone. However, you need to submit a scanned copy of the entry stamp from Cambodia to be eligible to apply at the Thai embassy in Cambodia.

The Thai embassy in Phnom Penh uses the evisa process. All online. Payment is online

Thank you John! What if I stayed in Siem Reap or Kampot. Is it always the Phnom Penh embassy?

- yes, unlike Vietnam, Cambodia only has one consulate, so you would apply online via the e-visa portal with the consulate in Phnom Penh.

- while online, you still have to be physically in the jurisdiction of that embassy/consulate. While some counties only have one consulate, making the entire country under that consulate’s jurisdiction, there are some countries that have more than one. For example, if in Hanoi Vietnam, you have to select the Hanoi consulate in the evisa system and can not select the HCMC consulate. She was making sure that Cambodia wasn’t divided into two sub-regions.

- ah, did your search also show you that in Feb it was announced that they would be opening a new consulate in Siem Reap? I think your google search doesn’t give you all the needed information, hence why people ask on this page. Where did you get your DTV?
