TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling to Thailand with a METR Visa typically requires proof of onward travel, such as a return ticket. While immigration officers may not ask for this upon entry, airlines often have stricter policies and may request an exit ticket within the 60-day window. It is advisable to check directly with your airline to verify their requirements regarding tickets for travelers with tourist visas.

If you haven’t got your visa yet. You will need entry ticket into Thailand, entry ticket out within 60 days AND. another airline ticket showing your next flight into Thailand

Immigration is not likely to ask. Your airline might ask you to show a ticket out of Thailand within 60 days though. If they ask and you can't show it they will not let you board your flight.

You should contact your airline and ask their policy for those traveling to Thailand with a tourist visa (the fact that it's multiple entry doesn't make a difference and is likely to just confuse them if you mention it).
