TLDR : Answer Summary
The original question asks whether a Bangkok Bank term deposit is acceptable for a marriage visa extension in Chiang Mai for an Australian passport holder. Commenters clarify that a fixed interest account (term deposit) is indeed permissible, provided that the funds have not dipped below the required amount of 400,000 THB and have been in the account for at least two months. However, to avoid any complications, it is crucial to confirm with the local Thai Immigration office.

Ask your local Thai Immigration office.
And they will tell you what is allowed.
Do not commit without asking Thai Immigration. Be careful of changing banks too...or changing fixed accounts without Thai Immigration saying its OK.
Good luck.
And as this is not a Thai Visa advice question,
And a good group of expats in the Facebook group Transferwise Solutions may have suggestions too.

Fixed interest is correct. Thanks for your advice.

If it’s a fixed interest account that you lose the interest on if you withdraw before the specified time then that’s ok. If it’s one where you can’t touch it (draw from it) then it’s not. A foreign currency account is acceptable as long as it’s been in the same account for two months and hasn’t dipped below 400k at the time of application.
