Just a quick question about my non o visa. Sorry if it’s been asked before.
My stamp’s good until April 15th and I’m planning on being in Songkhla for Songkran arriving April 9th and will visit Malaysia.
My question is, when I do my visa run, ‘officially’ do I have to do an overnight or can I just stamp out and back in again?
I had trouble at the Sadao border crossing in the past so I plan to cross at Padang Besar which I’ve done before with my tourist visa doing a u turn.
Just interested if the overnight rule still applies.
On another, thanks to everyone who helped me organise my non o in January. I would have been completely screwed with out this group! Tod, you’re the man!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about the necessity of an overnight stay while making a visa run from Thailand to Malaysia via Padang Besar, particularly during the Songkran festival. Community responses clarify that there is no official overnight rule for visa runs; individuals can typically stamp out and immediately return without needing to stay overnight. Advice includes being prepared to show proof of funds at the border, especially at southern crossings.
