Hi everyone. I'm in Cambodia now and am planning to travel from Poi Pet to the Ban Laem Border Checkpoint tomorrow to re-enter Thailand, as I'm told that the Poi Pet border is hard to re-enter. I've been quoted 2500 THB for a taxi to the checkpoint. Can anyone tell me if that's a good price or not, and can anyone suggest an alternative bus/taxi combo that would be cheaper? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether 2500 THB for a taxi to the Ban Laem Border Checkpoint is reasonable. Community responses suggest trying the Poipet border first instead of incurring additional travel costs and highlight potential entry issues into Thailand if certain visa conditions have been met previously. There are also suggestions for negotiating a taxi fare.
We had a awful experience last month at Poipet. They messed up my husbands brand new work visa and said he had to go back to Canada. It was a disaster. Everyone not from Thailand was turned around.
If you are at the Poipet border you may as well use it rather than spending money going to another border.
Worth noting is if you have entered Thailand twice by land on visa exempts this year you will be denied entry and have to go to Phnom Penh to either get a tourist visa or fly in on a visa exempt, this applies to all borders not just Poipet.
