Hello everyone! I tried to search but cannot find the information with my question.

I’m from Ukraine and I’m here in Thailand 4 years, I decided to go back to Ukraine and I don’t understand (and my company cannot give the answer for some reason) HOW TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY IN THE RIGHT WAY.

I have work permit and working visa. Do I have to go to immigration office to cancel them both? Or I have to cancel only work permit and visa will expired automatically? My company told me that I have to cancel by myself both (wp and visa) and leave the country at the same day, but my flight is on Saturday (immigration office doesn’t work).

Another question, will I have any problems if I want to comeback to Thailand as a tourist just with a stamp for 30 days?

Thanks everyone for help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Ukrainian expat in Thailand seeks guidance on the proper procedures for leaving the country after four years of residency. They need to know if they should cancel both their work permit and working visa, and how to handle their departure if their flight falls on a Saturday when immigration offices are closed. A community member advises that both the work permit and extension of stay must be officially cancelled at the immigration office before flying out to avoid future issues.

IF you are ever going to come back here and work you need to cancel the work permit AND the extension of stay.

You can do it before your flight out. GO cancel the work permit, take that receipt and the termination letter from your company to the immigration office stating your last day is Saturday, they will cancel your extension and stamp you in until that date. THEN you can leave.

remember just stamping out does NOT officially cancel your current stamp you need to GO cancel it at the immigration office. Same with your work permit, just letting it run out doesn't cancel it. You need to GO do it.

Do things the correct way and you won't have issues down the road..

okay. Thanks, now I see clearly. The company didn’t tell me that I need something from them to bring to immigration. They just told me to go there.
