TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your 30-day visa exemption for an additional 30 days once. Regarding the Certificate of Entry (COE), it is important to confirm whether the total duration will meet your travel requirements.
IF you enter before September 30, you will get 45 days because of COVID-19 quarantine. If you enter AFTER September 30, you will get 30 days because there's no more quarantine requirements
(There *WILL BE* more quarantines after September 30th)
Visa exemption is currently 45 days. You can get a 30-day extension of stay. You cannot use that extended stay date for you return ticket as the 30 days aren't yet granted to you when you apply for the COE.
Yes I'm working on my coe but want to have all clear before I start with it. I applied for an TR visa at the embassy but they gave me appointment in 4 weeks 🙄
The embassy and the immigration office are two completely separate branches of the Thai government and they do not communicate with each other at all. If possible just leave the fact you're paning on getting a 30 day extension of stay blank.
