Greetings. How many times can a person enter Thailand in one year? I have a non-immigrant B visa, and have been to Malaysia twice since arriving in April. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
There is generally no limit to the number of times a person can enter Thailand in a year if they hold a Non-Immigrant B visa, provided it is a multiple entry visa. However, if it's a single entry visa, obtaining a re-entry permit is essential before leaving Thailand to ensure the validity of the visa upon re-entry. For visa exempt land entries, there are limits on the number of entries per calendar year.

seeing as you say your non-B is valid until the 19th of november IF I had to guess I'd say you have a 90 day Non-B visa (that you got from a thai consulate in another country OR from the immigration office here). IF you are going to exit the country on it you would need a re-entry permit to keep the current 90 day stamp you have valid so when you come back in you get stamped in until that expiration date.

Keep in mind that a re-entry permit doesn't add any time to your existing stamp, all it does is let you exit/re-enter and get stamped in for the same expiration date

That means you were stamped in for 90 days and IF you're going to leave/come back during that 90 days you'd need a re-entry permit (y)

Thank you. It is single entry

So it is guessing again. Do you have a Single Entry Non Immigrant B or the Multiple Entry Non Immigrant B or as one suggested Extension of Stay with or without re-entry Permit?

Single entry

Catherina - I believe what you need is an re-entry permit.

Catherina Opperman - I think you have gotten your answer. But incase it's been drowned out by background noise.

There is no limit to the number of times you can come to Thailand.

There are however, limits to the different types of permission you can get: (extension of stay, non-b, SETV, visa exempt, and more) and the time you can spend here for each permission.

I arrived in April on a 60 day tourist visa. I had an extension. Then had to wait 45 days for my visa because I am a South African. With appointment proof from KL was granted another 30 days at a fee of course. Had to return to KL to collect a non-immigrant B single entry. Expiring 19 November. My original question was how many times per year can a person enter Thailand. I. e. Is there a limit?

Not really a guess, she obviously didnt arrive in april on the same visa she has now. Something she failed to mention.

Apparently she made the same assumptions as you. I am glad shed asked and that I spoke-up. Thank you for your excellent but faulty guess work

The fact the OP says she has been in Thailand more than 90 days already and been to Malaysia twice means she must either have a multi entry visa or an extention of stay, if its the latter she must already know the procedure for a re-entry permit.
Terary **********
@Steve Greir -- yeah I guess that makes sense. She would only benefit from a re-entry if it was her last stamp in.

I doubt it, if they have a multi entry non imm B they dont need a re-entry permit

The only limit is entering overland twice per calender year for visa exempt entries. Otherwise no limit

Hey,

there is no limit on entries (only on visa exempt land entries).

If you have a multiple entry visa you don’t need to take care of anything - just leave and enter again. If it’s a single-entry visa you need to get a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand.
