TLDR : Answer Summary
The number of times you can enter Thailand with a visa exemption stamp varies by entry method. Generally, travelers can enter twice per calendar year by land, while there is no official limit for entries by air. However, repeated entries can raise suspicions among immigration officers, potentially impacting your entry even if you have the appropriate documentation.
I have a Brazilian passport, which gives me a 90 day exemption stay. If I was to apply for a visa, which one should I go for?
My plans are to be in the country for 9-12 months. Tourism and some courses, no work (of course if that materialised then my situation would change completely)
Can confirm that land border around Bangkok are not stamp 90days. Kanchanaburi said NO, Ban Laem sometimes OK first first timer, sometimes not OK, so better make a good planning and fly OUT/IN or get a Tourist Visa.
If you regularly enter the country many times on visa exemptions then you are are not really a 'tourist'. So the Immigration Officer may be suspicious....and probably rightly so. If you are going to use the exemption scheme long term.....consider getting a visa at least some of the time.
Keep in mind, entry to the Kingdom is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer. Even with a proper visa issued by a Thai embassy or consulate, they can deny you entry.
