my Thai Partner received a Schengen Visa from Swiss Embassy. it says:
12 months Multiple 90 days
Is she entitled for total 90 days, or can she do 2 times 90 days in one year?
Answer summary
With a 12-month multiple entry Schengen visa, your Thai partner is entitled to stay a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period. This means she cannot stay for 90 days consecutively twice within the year; rather she can make multiple trips, ensuring that the total stay does not exceed 90 days at any given time within the rolling 180 days.

A multiple visa gives you the right to enter Schengen area multiple times over a period of 12 months, and maximum 90 days per 180days, you can use the Schengen days calculator to see the days you are aloud to stay each time you enter
Multiple entries over a maximum period of 90 days. The validity date is in small print on the visa. The multiple entry is to allow the person to move freely within the Schengen area. It's worth noting that the person should arrive in the country who issued the visa. It does cause problems if not, as it flags future Schengen visas applications
