TLDR : Answer Summary
You can typically apply for your Non-O retirement extension when you have 30 days or less left before expiration at most immigration offices. However, in some locations like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, this period extends to 45 days. Hua Hin prefers applicants to come in 1 week prior to expiration, while Korat also allows 45 days. It's important to check local practices, as each immigration office may have different preferences.

After your 800,000 baht has been in for 60 days, you have 15 days to apply, you have to have 2 weeks left on your non O to make it work

Anyone know if Jomtien will permit 45 days early or is it only 30 days?

Hua Hin prefers 1 week. I went 30 days and they said next year, 1 week. Not sure if they'll actually turn me away but that was their request

I've seen multiple people say they applied for their retirement extension 45 days early in Hua Hin

as I said before: Something between you and the Immigration official must have gotten lost in translation. You meant 1-year EOS, they meant touristic extension

that's pretty narrow a window. What happens if they demand more documents, like a 12-months bank statement, for which some banks need 12 days to produce. It would blow up the timing

That is why you go to Immigration in advance and ask for their specific list of requirements for your extension

no clue, just stating what they said. 12 months statements are available online from most banks...

maybe you went in there and asked "I'd like to apply for an extension" and they thought you were referring to the touristic extension, and correctly replied "one week before" 😃😄

I don't believe a word. Something between you and the Immigration official must have gotten lost in translation. Touristic extensions for 30 days in Hua Hin can only be applied for one week before expiry of the admitted stay permit. However applications for the "1-year extension of the stay permit based on retirement" can be made in Hua Hin up from 30 (!!) days before the expiry of the stay permit

At most immigration offices you can apply when you have 30 days or less left.

At some like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, you can apply when you have 45 days or less left.
