Hi Everyone, from your experience how long does it take after you have received a Sticker in your Passport that you are "under consideration" (for retirement) before you will be able to go back to get your Stamp? TIA ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
After receiving a sticker in your passport indicating that your application is 'under consideration' for a retirement visa (Non-O), the wait time before you can return to get your stamp varies by location. Generally, it takes around 2 to 3 weeks. For instance, at the Chiang Mai office, it took 3 weeks, while the Khon Kaen office requires a minimum of 15 days remaining on your current stamp and you need to return with a receipt on the specified date to obtain your 90-day stamp after paying a fee.

In my case at the Chiang Mai office recently, the time between being issued the under consideration slip and the date to return to get the 90-day stamp is 3 weeks.

I believe this varies depending on location, in most cases 2 weeks if quiet and 3 if busy...........

different offices have different "under review" periods believe it or not

Chiang Mai's is 15 WORKING days <- which can vary depending on when you apply, if there are holidays etc.

Although up there they normally tell people you need a minimum of 21 days left on your current stamp to apply ๐Ÿ˜›

It really doesn't have anything to do them being busy or not, and AFAIK only Chiang Mai has that wacky 15 working day processing.

Most all the other offices run under the "you need a minimum of 15 days left on your stamp" to apply for an in country non-immigrant type visa

You need a minimum of 15 days remaining on your current stamp when you apply for the 90 day non-O visa at the Khon Kaen immigration office. You will apply, you will pay the 2000baht you will get a receipt that has a date stamped on it saying when to come back for the "results" <- that is the under consideration time, and you are here on your original stamp while the application is under review.

On the date on that receipt, you go back with your passport and they will ink in a Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp.

THEN

You wait until your funds are seasoned in your bank account for 2 months and you have 30 days or less left on the 90 day stamp. You go back, apply with all new documents for the year extension for 1900baht and it will be issued on the spot.

Okay what this post was about is a person on a 45 day visa exempt entry AND a 30 day extension wondering how the process works at the Khon Kaen Immigration office to apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement
