Is the 'Under Consideration' Stamp a New Requirement for Non-Imm O Visa Extensions?

Hey folks. I’ve noticed quite a few people on non-imm O visas saying that when they go to Imm Office to extend for another 12 months they are getting a initial 1 month under consideration stamp. For myself I have Non Imm O for retirement. My 4th 12 month extension is coming up end of September. I haven’t come across this “month under consideration” stage at all in the past.

Normally I wait at the office for around 30 - 60 minutes after submitting docs and get my new 12 month extension stamp without having to come back.

Is the “under consideration” stage something new?

Thanks again for your assistance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several individuals have reported experiencing a new 'under consideration' stamp when applying for Non-Imm O visa extensions, especially those applying for retirement extensions. This post inquires whether this new stage is a recent development, as many typically receive their extension approval on the same day.

people applying for different reasons for an Extension of Stay,

Each reason has their own requirements and regulations.

being over 50 years of age can be decided directly as day of birth is stamped in the passport, being married to a Thai National need some interviews and house visit and can not be done directly, therefor the 1 month under consideration

Local Immigration send all marriage visas to Head office in Bangkok before the are allowed to put the extension in your passport. That's is why it take some time.
