I need to get a 30 extension on my visa (U.S. Passport - I’m currently in Chiang Mai) and understand that I can get it at Promenade Mall. It would help to know how long I should plan to be there for this. How long should this take? Is there a better time, day, etc to go? Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To get a 30-day visa extension at Promenade Mall in Chiang Mai, it's advised to go just before 1 PM, after the lunch break, as it may help avoid long wait times. Visitors can expect to spend about 4 hours there. It's important to grab a number and have the TM7 form filled out, along with a passport photo which can also be taken on-site. The immigration office tends to be busy, particularly after a closure.

I did mine two weeks ago on a Monday. I went there for 13:00 when they are back from lunch. It took about 4 hrs.

Will be busy tomorrow due to long weekend, but best to go just before 1pm end of lunch break. Grab a number and fill out the TM7 form. You will also need 1 photo which can be done onsite for a small fee.

They're closed today, but their hours are 8:30 - 12 and then 13 - 16:30.

Some people go in the morning, some say the afternoon is better.

I can say tomorrow is gonna be busy because they were closed today.

Also you don't need to wait until the last day of your stamp because they add the extension to your current expiration date.
